Dr Palacios is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families across inpatient and outpatient settings. Gaby has worked with a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, behavioural issues, emotion regulation difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem, perfectionism, disordered eating and relationship difficulties.
Gaby is a warm and empathic clinician who strives to develop a non-judgemental and supportive space for clients to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and overcome barriers that are impacting upon their emotional wellbeing. She brings humour and compassion to her sessions and believes in the importance of a collaborative treatment approach that is client-centred. Gaby uses evidence-based interventions which are tailored to suit the needs of the individual client.
Gaby’s PhD research involved adapting a group program at a private hospital in Perth to explore the use of imagery interventions in enhancing treatment outcomes for people receiving treatment for mood disorders.
