Lisa is a Clinical Psychologist with a particular interest in supporting children who are experiencing mental health difficulties and their parents. Lisa’s approach emphasises the importance of establishing a trusting relationship with clients and on being explicit and collaborative in understanding problems and developing treatment plans to address these.
Lisa provides assessment and treatment for children who may be struggling with emotional and behavioural problems including anxiety, depression and/or relational difficulties. Lisa works closely with parents to enhance their ability to support their children in their difficulties. Lisa also provides support to parents of infants and toddlers.
Lisa’s style is transparent, supportive and gently challenging.
Experience
Lisa has worked in academic settings for over 15 years, training future psychologists in psychodynamic psychotherapy, mentalization based therapy and cognitive behaviour therapy. Throughout her academic career, Lisa has consulted clients privately and in the last few years has focused specifically on child and parent work.
Lisa uses evidenced treatments including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Mentalization-Based Therapy in supporting children with emotional, behavioural and relational challenges and their caregivers, and in promoting reflective parenting.
